...how it all started

This was a long time in the making.

Looking back even I am surprised at how long I silently wanted to do this.

She and Her Stamina started waaaay back with a summer book.

To put it simply I fell in love with the main protagonist and for a month or two I desperately wanted to become her.

At sixteen I signed up for a site that I thought was so cool and artsy at the time and I wanted to name myself after the main protagonist. The name was of course already taken (and all the hundred variations I tried), so I created a pseudonym for myself; S T A M I N A. It embodied everything I loved about the book and its characters, the characteristic of a wildly- elegant woman, taking life in her hands and keeping her head high at times she wanted to buckle. Over time I forgot about her, but the pseudonym stayed by my side and frankly now there is quite a few usernames SheandHerStamina on the internet.

It felt only fitting to name my blog after the book that inspired me to become someone I would look in wonder to at sixteen years old and someone I wish to become in the future.
